Pierrot, the seventeenth century Italian ‘sad clown,’ performed unmasked, face painted white, often with a black tear falling from one eye. When considering what to name the pieces in this set, I recalled that black tear – the symbol of Pierrot’s unworldly naiveté and longing. This bracelet partners beautifully with the Pierrot Necklace, the Pierrot Earrings – Large and/or the Pierrot Earrings - Small.
